Ski Days

Well, I counted 34 days in Jan - March in which I skied. I also figured out that I skied about 10 days in December bringing the total to over 44 days. This was a good ski year but not great. They are still skiing in the UP of Michigan.

Next year, I plan to ski more and get the kids out with me more than once!

Happy Easter

The Easter Bunny hopped all the way to WI to bring the Spieler children their goodies this morning. The kids were very excited about this. Below are the kids enjoying their Easter presents and searching for their baskets.

Here is little Miss Brooke in her Easter garb. She was so excited to wear her new dress and she packed her bunny ears and even her bunny purse to complete the look. We celebrated Easter on Saturday night by having a yummy ham dinner with my parents and Brad and Katie, Trent and Gavin. We are back home after driving straight through. Happy Spring!

Water Park

On Thursday, we went to a water park in Wausau, WI. It is on the way to my parents house. The kids had a blast splashing around and swimming like little fish. Above is Brooke in the wading pool and the next two shots below show Riley on his favorite purple slide.

Here the kids are posing in front of a deer in the lobby of the hotel. We were on our way to swim. It was a fun couple days of swimming and eating out!

Easter Bunny Hunt

Today we went to the Easter Egg Hunt at Lakeshore Park in Prior Lake. We were not the only ones with this idea-- there were tons of kids and parents there. It was a mad dash for the eggs that were in the middle of the field. Brooke and Riley scored a total of three eggs and the whole hunt took aboaut 15 seconds. After that we went inside and had the kids photo taken with the Easter Bunny. They enjoyed meeting him and gave him hugs before we left. The kids also got to climb up in a fire truck but we passed on the pony rides since the line was sooo very long.

Since Lakeshore Park was so busy we headed over to Memorial Park to let the kids play for a little while. It was our first trip to a park this spring and we were still wearing our winter coats, hats and mittens. BRRR! The kids just love this see saw and so do I! Here's hoping for some warmer temps. soon!

Bunny Cake

The kids and I made a bunny cake this morning. I used to make one out of 2 8" round cakes but after the last one didn't turn out (the frosting kept sticking to the cake), Eric invested in these bunny shaped cake pans. It worked like a charm. The kids had fun helping me decorate but I think they had more fun eating all the toppings. We hope Daddy will be surprised tonight when he gets home from work.

Easter Eggs

Tonight after dinner we dyed Easter eggs. It's always an adventure with little kids--last year Riley ate one of the dye tablets but luckily no one did this year and we only had a few cracked eggs and no spills-- always a positive. We all had a good time and ended up with some pretty eggs.

Brooke used a special water color egg painting kit we picked up somewhere along the line.

The activity ended with stickers on everyone's nose. Too funny
