Sleeping Kids

The kids were all tuckered out after a busy weekend. The funniest was Riley who snuck out of bed and put on his Cars birthday hat. We cracked up when we checked in on him before turning in ourselves. This will be a good photo for his high school graduation photo board.

Sunday Parade

Eric took the kids to the Dan Patch Days Parade today in Savage. Here they are shaking Sparky's hand.
This was Eric favorite float-- a motorized boat!

The kids thought this bicycle was very funny. They called it the broken bike!

They went and had ice cream after. I always love photos of their messy faces!

Valley Fair

We spent a fun day at Valley Fair on Saturday. Our good friends, the Jeches, came into town. I was a little worried about the weather but the rain cleared out and we had a grand day. Brooke and Riley are little daredevils and love going on all kinds of rides. Brooke loved the Supercat and Riley liked the Mild Thing. I think he would go on the Wild Thing if they would let him--at least once! The first photo is Coy and Eric coming back from the Hydro Blast-- I think that is what it is called. It is a water slid that you go down on a raft completely in the dark. They did it at least three times.

Here are the little ones, Riley, Carter and Brooke enjoying the train ride. This train is the first ride Brooke ever went on-- in her whole life. We get a little sappy every year when she rides it again.

Moon Buggies! Gotta love them!

Laura and I posed for a quick photo while the kids were on the merry-go-round. I went to kindergarten with her twin brother and we even got confirmed together.

Eric and Riley on the merry-go-round-- the first ride of the day.

Father's Day

The kids and I made a grilling apron for Eric for Father's Day. We put a fish on it since Eric has always been a fan of both fishing and eating fish. Here is the proud poppa and his kiddies!

Graduation and Family Photos

We attended my cousin's graduation in Milwaukee this past weekend. It is hard to believe that Bailey is all grown up! Many of the Vissers family was in attendance so we took the opportunity to take some family photos.

Here are the four generations of Vissers men. My dad is on the left, my grandpa is in the middle, my brother is the tall fellow in the blue shirt and my nephews, Trent and Gavin are the kids. I just love photos like this.
This photo shows my grandpa with his oldest son, my dad and his youngest son, my uncle Marv and then their sons, Brad and Samuel. Brad and Samuel are the tall ones in the family and there is always the measuring moment that happens when they are together to see if Samuel has passed Brad up yet. I don't think he has even an inch to go any more.

Here is one of my mom and dad. They celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary the next day.

Here is the guest of honor! Bailey Elizabeth Vissers! Brooke and Riley gave her big hugs before we left and Riley even gave her a puppy kiss to congratulate her. She will be attending the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee this fall. Look out world, here comes another Vissers!

Milwaukee Sights

We are back from a fun-filled weekend in Milwaukee. In the first photo, Eric and I are by Lake Michigan. We stole a few moments together in our "dating town" and got a photo of just the two of us.
The kids enjoyed the Milwaukee Zoo. Here they are checking out the long-legged flamingos. That was always one of my favorite things to see when I went there as a kid--that and Samson.

Here is a cheetah, up close and personal.

This is some art in the front yard of a house we drove by. We were shocked and amused and we turned around and came back to take a few photos. Not only did they have th sunken car but many other interesting things in their yard, including a Big Boy statue. Only in Milwaukee!

Big Hopping Dinosaur

Here is just a fun photo of Riley with his big hopping dinosaur. It was the last photos we took before our camera broke! We hope to buy a new one this weekend.

I cannot remember what I last wrote but we are looking forward to fun summer. The weather this past week felt more like October but today we went to the zoo and enjoyed some good quality outside time. This summer we've already been to the cabin, hosted a bridal shower and are headed to Milwaukee next week for a few fun days and my cousin's graduation. I am sure I will have lots of fun and photos to share of that.
