Riley's Birthday Party

Riley had a fun birthday party this past Sunday. It was Cars themed again since that remains to be one of his most favorite things in the world. He had the clothes, cake, candles and decorations all in Cars. Many of his gifts fit the theme as well. We had a good time with family and friends. Thanks to everybody who came to share his special day.

Riley's Birthday

On Riley's real birthday we had a low key day at home. He got to open his present from Grandma Peggy and Grandpa Milty and we had Big Daddy Sundaes for dessert that night.

The day before his birthday we celebrated with our annual trip to Chuck E. Cheese. It was fun for the kids to play some games and the pizza there is surprisingly yummy!

The kids did great at air hockey. Can't wait to get our own table some day! I love air hockey!!!

Little Mouse

Riley was the chosen one in his class to bring home the coveted class stuffed animal this week. His name is Little Mouse. Riley came out of school on Tuesday absolutely beaming and holding the red bag that contained Little Mouse and journal that travels with him. When we got home from school, Riley immediately took the mouse upstairs and dressed in him in some of his own clothes, complete with underwear. He made a little bed for him on the floor and Little Mouse has gone everywhere with us this week. Tomorrow he goes back to school and he will be missed in the Spieler house.

Riley giving little mouse a squeeze in his favorite tv viewing position.
Snack time with Little Mouse, he gets his own bowl.

Little Mouse even went to Home Depot on Daddy Day and helped Riley build a car holder.

Winter Fun

Winter can be long so you just have to make the most of it! Here is Riley making a snow angel in the yard. Below the kids pose in front of a snowman that we made the other day. The kids also love to sled and tube down the little hill in our back yard. Brooke squeals every time she goes down. It's the perfect size hill for them and they are even bringing up their own sleds which is a bonus for me!

This is Brooke on the bus on the way home from a day on the slopes. Eric has taught snowboarding with Blizzard Ski School for many years now and since he is an instructor our kids can begin their lessons early so Brooke has gone two Saturdays this winter so far and they plan to go three more times. I was a little leery for her to take on this adventure but she did it with gusto. She rides the bus to and from the ski hill (they travel all around the state) and eats lunch with her class. She has made me so proud and she sure looks like she enjoys it.
