I'll highlight the exciting events over the past weeks. I went to Chicago for work on August 2nd. I always forget how nice of a city it is and the many things to do. Unfortunately, I was there on business and focused on work and not play. However, we did go out to dinner twice and walked the streets of Chicago. By the way, they were filming the new Batman across the street from our hotel.
Now on to the kid's stuff.....
We headed to the Dakota County Fair this past Friday (I took the day off of work). The temps were hot but we went early in the morning. As we walked in, we saw the kid's petting zoo. It was by far the most interesting and exotic petting zoo that Vicki and I have ever seen. They had a dancing camel, deer, ostriches, lemurs, kangaroos, pygmy goats, tortoises and much much more... Here's a couple pix of the animals and the kids......
After the petting zoo, we walked over to the children's barn where they had kids activities and tractors for the kids to sit on. Riley really liked the Big John Deere!
Riley and Brooke were trying to catch the fish in the kids pool sponsored by Dakota County. It was easier without water.
On Friday night, Uncle Marc came to visit. So the kids spent a lot of time playing with him.
On Sunday, we headed to the Burnsville Fire Muster only to find that it was already over so we headed to Nicollet Commons Park where they have water sculptures and mini-rivers for teh kids to play in.
Last but not least, the kids had a lot of fun this past couple weeks with new swimming outfits and Brooke's extensive supply of band-aids (Dora, Spiderman, Hello Kitty, Spongebob, etc...)
Have a great week! This next weekend is the annual St. Paul Inline Marathon. 26.2 miles of fast roads and rolling hills.
